Dr. Simon Pedzisi is a distinguished healthcare leader with over two decades of experience across clinical, operational, and academic domains. His career includes key roles such as Director of Care Services and National Leader for the UK’s Gold Standard Framework in palliative care, where he influenced national standards for end-of-life care.
Holding a Doctorate in healthcare standards and a Master’s in Leadership, Simon pioneered the UK’s first Care Home Education Centre and co-founded the Care Home Research Network, linking 14 Ph.D. projects to address ageing population needs. He also led the development of one of the UK’s first intergenerational care model with an onsite nursery in a care home to address social loneliness. As a Visiting Lecturer, he has shared expertise in leadership and aged care best practices. Currently Dean of Research at Opal HealthCare Academy, Simon collaborates with Australian universities on dementia, nutrition, and brain health research, driving innovation in elder care.
